Roasted Figs with Goat Cheese and Prosciutto

When looking for a sophisticated yet easy and quick appetizer, simply wrapping fresh figs with goat cheese and prosciutto may be your saving grace!

Yield:  6

Oven: 425ºF

Preparation time: 10 minutes

Cook Time: 8 minutes

6 figs, stem tip removed, cut in half from top to bottom

4-ounces goat cheese

2 slices prosciutto, each cut into thirds

Method:

1.   Preheat oven 425ºF.

2.   On a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, evenly space figs flesh side facing up.

3.   Top each with a small amount of goat cheese and lightly drape prosciutto on top to cover. Place in preheated 425ºF oven and allow to roast until prosciutto is golden brown in color and cheese is soft, approximately 8 minutes.

4.   Remove from oven and allow to cool for 5 – 10 minutes before enjoying.

 

Kitchen Note:  For a little variety, swap fontina or blue cheese for the goat.
